I wanted to share I talk I gave at Your Vibrant Life Summit last month. I think this is an important topic that many people overlook as they strive to find healthier alternatives and sometimes end up trying to “fit” themselves into diet plans that other people create for them. It’s really important to understand that we are all unique chemical beings. There are many factors that make-up an appropriate diet plan for us. I will be discussing this topic in later posts but today I want to share mood management tips with the idea that you should be making gradual changes that make it easy to identify what’s working and not working for you.
At anytime you have struggles know that I am here for you to help you interpret what messages your body might be giving you that can guide you as to what to try next or what to avoid in the future. Being armed with this knowledge, being empowered is very important in mood management because many times we are hard on ourselves when harshness was not the solution. No one diet works for everyone because we all have unique chemistry and filters from past experiences.
With that in mind, here is the outline you can use from my talk to print and take notes. Attached also is the audio file from my talk at Your Vibrant Life Summit. Enjoy, please leave any feedback you feel drawn to share, and always feel free to send me an email with questions.

Intro and overview
-
Change
- We have protective mechanisms that keep us in a pattern of repeating what is “safe”.
- Dichotomy caused by the uniquely human frontal cortex.
- Change can be hard…..energy loss from dieting, stuffing emotions, etc. that lead to cravings….
-
Chemical reactions/exposures
- endocrine disruptors, toxic chemicals, heavy metal exposures, etc.
- Very little is understood about reactions between multiple chemical exposures.
- Releasing toxins with cleansing

Cravings
- There are many facets to why we have cravings. Everything from lack of nutrition to stuffing emotions.
- We lose so much energy from resisting change and not feeding our physical and emotional bodies. Then top it off with the constant chemical exposures……
-
“Logisizing” through it
- education to get you through the hard times
- We have the power to understand, take the observer position, and see what we need to do to change our circumstances from a different view point.
-
Tools to help manage mood swings, cravings, and chemical reactions using supportive tools and education.

It never hurts to hire a coach. It doesn’t mean you’re a failure.

Main Discussion
-
Change challenges our ego which is meant to help us stay safe.
- As humans we have a frontal cortex which helps us create and explore so that we can find new and better ways to experience life. This can cause a dichotomy that can cause a struggle with our animal instincts to stay safe versus feeding the hungry creative side of our frontal cortex.

Cravings by dieting, following society demands to hide emotions, not speak the truth, lose connection with our instincts, intuition, and creative side:

A new way of eating that supports change, chemical release, and cravings.
- Creating a way of eating that supports you as a unique individual is critical. There are so many “diets’ out there that tell you this is THE only way. Believe me, I’ve tried the majority of them and know many who have as well.
