There are many types of green teas. Some are in leaf form and some in powder. But one of my favorites is a Japanese ceremonial green tea of very high quality, called matcha.
Matcha has incredible benefits including:
- Packed with antioxidants including powerful EGCg
- Boosts metabolism and burns calories
- Detoxifies effectively and naturally
- Calms and relaxes
- Enhances mood and aids in concentration
- Provides vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc and magnesium
- Fights against viruses and bacteria
- Is rich in fiber
- Lowers cholesterol and blood sugar
- Does not raise insulin levels
Best Matcha Recipe Ever
1 tsp matcha powder
1/2 cups hot filtered water (150 degrees)
2 1/2 cups cold filtered water
1/4 cup of Brazil nut or coconut milk
2 tsp each raw honey
2-6 drops stevia
Dash of cinnamon powder
Pour hot water into a wide mouth glass jar and add matcha powder. Use a whisk to thoroughly blend the matcha into the hot water. Add sweeteners and cinnamon and stir with a spoon.
If you’d like it iced, add the cold water at this time. Add the Brazil or coconut milk. I like extra ice too. You can also add essential oils for flavor. Cinnamon is great for this recipe!
